This web site reveals some of the paintings I have done to date, arranged in portfolios representing the genres I paint in. Since 2007, I have concentrated my work on historical research, writing and painting historical scenes and portraits.

After being exhibited in a rotating exhibit, "William's Street, John's Towne, Winter, 1772/3," hangs in the Old Court House in Johnstown, NY. Portraits of Lafayette, his spy James Lafayette, and Frederick Douglass were on loan to Illinois College. Frederick Douglass' "Reparation Portrait" is now installed in the new Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives Headquarters in Rochester, New York. (

Historical paintings, "John Howland Homestead, 1650," and "Plymouth Trade-House at Cushnoc, 1628," are owned by the Pilgrim John Howland Society and exhibited at the Jabez Howland House in Plymouth, MA. Four historical scenes and portraits related to Sir William Johnson's life are on loan at Fort Johnson in Amsterdam, NY.

Portraits of General Arnold and General Gates were included in Dean Snow's book, 1777: Tipping Point at Saratoga. Historical paintings and drawings are included in Maine Archaeologist, Leon Cranmer's new book, History and Archaeology of Fort Halifax, Winslow, ME. "Ellen and Mary More" is included in Mayflower Historian, Caleb Johnson's film for the Soul Kindred in America.

Arcadia/The History Press launched our book, Connecticut River Shipbuilding. Co-author Wick Griswold and I celebrated the release on October 2020 during tthe pandemic with an outdoor book-signing in Essex, CT, at the Griswold Inn and Store. I have completed seven paintings related to our book to date.

Portrait, "Gifts for the Massasoit, 1621," is on exhibit at the George Hail Library in Warren, RI and was purchased by the Warren Preservation Society."A Visit to Massasoit's Village, Pokanoket at Sowams, c.1620," was also commissioned by the Preservation Society. The Sowams Heritage Area Project has initiated a traveling exhibit of the paintings around Warren and 7 surrounding RI and MA towns, all part of Sowams, Massasoit's territory. My educational booklet, "Reframing History"is available at exhibit locations.
