Artist Statement

I agree with Theodore Roethke who wrote, “The dark has its own light.” No matter what I am confronted with, the process of drawing and painting allows me to transcend and the experience and associated feelings.

The colors of the sky reflected on the water, the faces of angels and the enlightened, trees, flowers, flowing water, rural farms, animals - These have a timeless tranquil quality and an inner light which I try to reveal in my painting.
